Nice place with a very French town nearby - which was a good thing. Good, if somewhat expensive, food.

Food and drink too expensive, albeit at a good hotel. Our room was too small for the price we paid.

This is a lovely hotel in a wonderful setting. Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that

A couple of things let it down. Although the bath had a shower over it, there was no shower curtain or screen so the water went all over the floor. Odd ommission. Also, the TV was supposed to be tuned to several english speakng channels but we found the same prog on 3.

The surroundings and facilities are excellent. The rooms clean and very confortable.

The standard of the hotel has slipped. The restaurant service and the quality of food has dropped dramatically. It is no longer a gourmet restaurant - just that of an avarage hotel but the wine prices haven't lowered to match! A walk in the grounds was marred by broken and taped-off walkways.

Hotel in a lovely quiet setting which made for a peaceful break following several days in city hotels. Lovely pool which was a bonus.

We were rather surprised to catch sight of around 60 dead fish floating on the duck pond in the hotel grounds and mentioned it straight away to reception who informed us that the groundsman was on to it. However, it took 2 days before any action was taken, they were clearing it out on the morning we left. We thought it strange that a hotel of such standing had not seen to the problem right away as it was a very disturbing sight and meant that any plans to have picnic round the lake were most definitely cancelled.

This hotel has a very special ambience, ideal for a relaxing stay in the countryside. The accommodation, location and staff all help to create an excellent environment. We stayed in the Pavilion du Parc and enjoyed the spacious, airy rooms. The meals in the restaurant are superb!

There is nothing about this hotel that we dislike.

The first impressions were that the buildings and grounds were lovely. A luxury hotel well situated for cross channel crossing. The food was good but not Michelin standard.

Upon arrival I was surprised that there was no trolley or porter to assist with our luggage although the receptionist kindly came and gave us a hand. Our room was adequate although small but we found in general the hotel was good. The gardens were nice but rather limited given the grandeur of the Chateau.

Our third stay here. We had a room in the pavilion which was excellent. Dinner was first rate as ever.

Rooms and used swimming pool. Food and dining room atmosphere very good

    Relaxing, no pressure, good food

Room rather small for a double, no fridge/mini-bar

We were upgraded to a suite and had a wonderful room with large seating area, huge bed and lovely bathroom. Bay window overlooking lawn and lake. Loveley atmosphere, friendly staff, great to hire bikes and explore local area. Food as good as any Michelin starred places in uk we have visited ( though does not have dining award) Peaceful atmosphere, complete quiet at night,.All rooms in Chateau, though smaller than ours, were decorated luxuriously. Personally would not want room in Pavilion as modern and soulless but some people prefer modern sleek lines

Pool was too small to bother with. Menu did not change in the 2 nights we were there so was wonderful for 2 nights, as 2 main 'menu gourmand' selections, but may be slightly repetitive if staying for longer. No tea and coffee facilities in room. There never are in French hotels which is a pity as is customary in uk hotels and 5 Euros for a tea bag in the bar is excessive.Breakfast, though perfectly adequate, is not up to same standard as evening food

The overall luxury and tranquillity of the hotel and it's grounds

We first stayed at Hôtel Château Tilques 21 years ago before our son (20) was born and, returned on subsequent visits with our son and his Granddad 15 years ago and, with our son 10 years ago, when returning from Euro Disney. Each and every time it has been perfect and, if anything, it has got better. The restaruant was and is first class for food and wine. When our son was 5 years old, his food was excellent and, it was served at a perfect temperature. The bar has improved since our first visits with regards choice and, again, the bar staff were very professional, in keeping with first impressions from reception. Even the cleaners have time for a smile. The breakfast was very good and, the waitress was a very hard worker and, wasted no time in serving the tea and coffee.

Although the food and wine were first class, the service wasn't. It wasn't bad service but, just not as attentive as we remembered it. However, it was very busy on both nights.

    The surroundings were excellent

The electricity sockets in our room blew when we plugged in the (provided) kettle. It took a considerable time to get matters sorted out and, eventually we were moved to a different room. Also breakfast was mediocre with what seemed like re-constituted scrambled eggs and indifferent bacon.

  • Group of friends
    10.0

The Chateaux was excellent, the rooms lovely, and the staff very attentive.

We all thought the evening menu very unexciting. and disappointing, as we had eaten lunch there recently which had been wonderful.

  • Older travelers
    7.8

The dining room and the quality of the food. Also the peace and quiet.

You indicating it was the last room available when clearly the hotel was nearly empty. The lack of a shower curtain. The poor teas- made room facilities.
